Head of FRWO on Wednesday left for Khuzestan province to visit planting projects, runoff management and desertification measures in the province.  

According to FRWO’s website, during his one-day trip to Ahvaz, Dr. Massoud Mansour will meet with the Governor General of Khuzestan and will visit the progress of natural resources projects.

Head of FRWO have been invited to Khuzestan by the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC), and according to schedule as had been planned, today; Head of FRWO, the Governor General and the officials of NISOC in Ahvaz are going to plant saplings in the province to welcome "Green National Initiative" or "Tree Planting Initiative" in the province.

Based on a joint tripartite memorandum of understanding between the governorate, Natural Resources and Watershed Management Department (NRWD) and the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC), planting measures will be taken to control desertification and runoff management by NISOC by the end of the year in five oil cities of the province such as: Ahvaz, Ramhormoz, Shush, Aghajari and Shalamcheh border area.

Based on this report, saplings are being planted on 2,000 hectares around oil facilities.
